Virtual Launch Event - Proximity of Care Design Guide: Designing for Early Childhood Development in Vulnerable Urban Contexts, Wednesday, 17th March, 3.00 PM – 4.30 PM CET
With Arabic, Portuguese and Spanish Translation

Arup and the Bernard van Leer Foundation are inviting you to the launch event of the Proximity of Care Design Guide, developed to support the design and implementation of child and family friendly interventions in vulnerable urban contexts.

Refugee and informal settlements have a growing population in critical need, and the number and size of these areas will only increase in the coming decades. While the specifics of these vulnerable areas vary, they consistently pose major challenges for children’s’ optimal development, whose needs often go unheard in decision-making and planning.

Join us for an online celebration on 17th March 2021 (3.00 PM – 4.30 PM CET) for our new Proximity of Care Design Guide, developed to support professionals and decision-makers operating in informal and refugee settlements to assess, design and build healthy, protective, stimulating and supportive environments where young children, their caregivers and pregnant women can thrive, with benefits for the whole community.

Together with our local partners from Jordan (Civic), Kenya (KDI) and Lebanon (CatalyticAction), we will present the functionalities of the Design Guide, and the experience of piloting it in different settings.
